Dennis L. Calhoun has studied and practiced photography for more than 40 years.
Dennis resides in Michigan, a few miles north of Detroit.
After studying photo-journalism in the early 70's (earning a BFA from SIU), he worked for some newspapers and magazines in Illinois.
In 1975, Dennis moved to Michigan to work as an editor for the US Army.
After that most of his photography was nature photography. Since retirement, he has done photography for Catholic Services of Macomb County, capturing volunteers at work serving community needs. and some food photography for Motown Soup (a Michigan charity).
Dennis is still active; bowling, repairing and selling guitars, and traveling
throughout the United States enjoying the beauty, meeting interesting people and taking pictures.
Please see his blog (under more...) as he migrates this web site to more of a travel and photography site.

The above is a picture from late 1969 in Thailand. Here Dennis and camera pictured in a rice field with a water buffalo and two Thai boys.
The picture below is from 2014 on a trip to Honduras and Belize. The white-faced capuchin monkeys liked my camera. I recently added the photo from North Carolina (Hilton Head) where I was visiting alligators.

Dennis in his element. Out in nature, cameras around his neck and a big smile on his face.
This was taken shortly after a visit to Key West.
